Mitsuko UchidaMitsuko Uchida is beloved of audiences throughout the world. A spell-binding performer in the concert hall as well as a superb recording artist, she is renowned for her interpretations of Mozart, Schubert, and Beethoven, and of the Second Viennese School. Some recent highlights have been her Artist-in-Residency at the Cleveland Orchestra, where she directed all the Mozart concerti from the keyboard over a number of seasons. She has also been the focus of a Carnegie Hall Perspectives series entitled ‘Mitsuko Uchida: Vienna Revisited’, and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw’s Carte Blanche series. Uchida has been Artist-in-Residence at the Vienna Konzerthaus, and with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, where she performed a series of chamber music concerts and a Beethoven Piano Concerti cycle with Sir Simon Rattle. Other regular partnerships include the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Royal Concertgebouw, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Philharmonia, and London Symphony Orchestras.

Recent releases on the Decca label include a recording of Mozart's piano concerti K.466 and K595 with the Cleveland Orchestra, and a solo Schumann disc. Mitsuko Uchida was made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen's 2009 honours.
