Philippe Bach - conductor
Swiss conductor, Philippe Bach, is in his final year as Kapellmeister and Stellvertretender Generalmusikdirektor at the Theater Lübeck. Past seasons included productions of Ballo in Maschera, The Cunning Little Vixen, Madame Butterfly, The Tempest, Turandot and Siegfried. Equally active as Symphonic and Orchesral conductor past orchestral engagements include the Tonhalle Orchester, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras. In June 06 he conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, having been selected by the orchestra for the LSO Discovery Conducting Scheme.
From 1 December 2010 he will become Generalmusikdirektor of Das Meininger Theater where his first production will be Wagner’s Rienzi. In the 2010/11 season, Philippe Bach will enjoy a busy concert diary: some of his débuts will include appearances with Berner Kammerorchester, Branderburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt and the RTE NSO.
